  • What is the Gola Programme?

    The Gola Programme is an Enterprise Development Programme funded by Assmang (Pty) Ltd – Black Rock Mine Operations to identify and develop sustainable local SMME’s within the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality. The objectives of the programme are to foster local economic growth, employment creation and statutory compliance.

  • What does the Gola Programme include?

    Non-financial assistance in the form of business development interventions including workshops and individual mentoring sessions.

  • How long is the Programme?

    12 Months

  • How does the selection process work?

    • Companies respond to the Request for Information (RFI) by submitting the required documentation.
    • Companies who have responded to the RFI complete and submit an application form online or through email.
    • A selection process takes place which includes an evaluation of the application forms and required documentation, as well as the requirements and strategic objectives of the Gola Programme.
    • A selected number of applicants are invited for an interview and assessment process, after which the final group of 15 qualifying beneficiaries are selected.
  • Does the completion of the application form automatically include my company in the Gola Programme?

    No, the completion of the application form does not guarantee that you will be selected or automatically include your company in the Gola Programme.

  • I am not situated in John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality – Can I apply for the Gola Programme?

    Unfortunately not – The Gola Programme is for companies who are situated in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, with proof of address.

  • I operate in mining related industries – Can I apply for the Gola Programme?

    Unfortunately not – Only companies operating in non-mining related industries with their primary source of income from entities other than mines will be considered.

  • What is expected from me if I am selected?

    Your commitment to a mentoring session of 1 – 2 hours per month, completing assignments, as well as monthly workshops for the duration of the programme.
